Frequently Asked Questions
What are Planet Ribs made of?
We make ribs combining the power of both worlds: plant-based proteins and fermentation: Soybean meal + brewer's spent yeast.
Are Planet Ribs healthier than beef for me?
Planet Ribs have 21 g protein and 150 calories per serving (half the calories of traditional ribs!) - all with zero cholesterol.
What does Planet Ribs BBQ taste like?
Come and try our delicious boneless ribs yourself! - Our food truck works from Tue to Sun at 601 Mission Bay Boulevard North, San Francisco, CA. Weekdays from 11 am to 3 pm, weekends from 11 am to 9 pm.
How do you make products that look and taste like real meat?
Fermented proteins clean the beany aftertaste of plant proteins reducing use of maskers, bitter blockers and added flavors. Fermented proteins naturally provide BBQ hues, leaving the Maillard reaction to finish the touch. Native fiber kept in protein ingredients allows creating a whole-cut juicy texture, and retains the moisture to deliver a juicy mouthfeel.
Are Planet Ribs vegan?
Planet Ribs are plant-based, 100% vegan.
How do I heat or prepare my ribs?
Place the tray in the microwave. Do NOT remove film or product from the tray - it's designed to preserve the moisture!
Heat for 30-60 seconds*. The film on the tray will balloon up and then subside.
Cook thoroughly until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
Once heated, peel film from the tray, and serve hot!
*Cooking time varies depending on oven wattage. Our 30 second cook time is based on a 1,000 watt microwave.
